What Is Ionized Water

What is Kangen Water®? And what is ionized water? There are a lot of terms floating around these days about water. We’ve put together a glossary of terms to help explain them, but we want to describe in a bit more detail exactly what makes our product different.

Kangen Water® is delicious water created from Enagic’s innovative water technology. In Japanese, kangen means “Return to the origin” and it describes water as it was meant to be–before the earth became polluted. Nature has produced “miracle waters” in several places around the world, and these areas tend to produce long and healthy lives for peoples native to the areas.

The secret to these waters is that they are clean, alkaline, micro-clustered, antioxidant waters.

Anti-Oxidant

Oxidation is visible in things like a rusty pipe or a browning apple after it's cut. In our bodies, a similar process happens due to free radicals—unstable atoms or groups of atoms. Antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E, beta carotene, and selenium, help combat this damage by neutralizing free radicals, protecting our cells from harm.

Ionized

The human body, in its optimal state, is slightly alkaline. Unfortunately, most modern beverages, including sodas and bottled water, are acidic. Restoring your body’s alkalinity through alkaline water can aid in detoxification and may help prevent acidosis, a condition linked to various diseases.

Microclusters

Regular tap and bottled water consist of clusters of 15-26 molecules. In contrast, Kangen Water® contains micro-clusters of just 5-6 molecules. This smaller structure allows for superior hydration as it’s absorbed more easily by the body. This also contributes to the clean, refreshing taste that Kangen Water® is known for.
